16 Core Processor from Sun

167 redundant news articles about Bill Gates quitting Microsoft. Cripes, how boring. Comscore tumbles on Google news. ICANN fooling around with the TLD’s again. Contradictory stories abound. I check out a few. Microsoft pledges XP support through 2014. SUN doing a nifty 16-core processor. Larry Lessig pushing broadband initiative. Germans ban the G-mail name. You have to do a workaround. Yahoo-Google deal triggering hearings. Kodak buying back its shares.

Security Suite Suggestions?

I’ve been using Norton products forever. And despite reports of performance issue with Norton products over the last few years I still use Norton Internet Security. But Now I’m considering making a change. I have access to legal licenses for Windows Live OneCare and McAfee Internet Security Suite. Which of these are better? Are there even better security suites out there? Let me know.

MPAA thinks evidence is over-rated. What? Toshiba uses Cell chip in a laptop. Prediction: dead-end. Chinese ripping off themselves. Chinese brand-name phones being copied by Chinese. One billion computers now in use.

RIP George Carlin

Today I mourn the passing of George Carlin. (More information here.) As most people I discovered Carlin in college. He had some ground breaking stuff (who could forget “The 7 Words You Can’t Say On Television”) and could be funny even without using them. He was 71 years old and died of heart failure. Who could say they didn’t expect him to die (relatively) young. Rest easy, George.
