Smoking Annoyances
I’m not a smoker but I don’t judge smokers. I’m not one of those non smokers who will preach to smokers about the damage they’re doing to their bodies, etc. My philosophy is that it’s their choice.
That being said I do have several annoyances with smokers. One of those annoyances came this morning when I was in an elevator with someone who was obviously a smoker. The whole elevator smelled of cigarette smoke. I think it is awafully discourteous of smokers to come into a small enclosed area with other people smelling like that. I’m not complaining about the second hand smoke issue here it’s just the blasted smell.
While I’m on this subject I am reminded of a former co-worker of mine. One day I accompnaied him on his smoke break because we had things to talk about. While he was smoking we talked. The conversation somehow got around to littering. He was ranting about how bad it is that people throw their trash on the streets and I agreed. A few minutes later it was time to go back into the office. My coworker flicked what was left of his still burning cigarette onto the sidewalk and stepped inside. I paused for a moment and stared in disbelief at his litter before going inside. Gotta love it.

More Yahoo Madness
I’m following the story of a friend who lost their Yahoo account to phishing. Phishing is the evil art of faking someone into giving you their account information. Most often this is done with an email that looks like it came from the website in questions (whether it be Yahoo, eBay, PayPal, you bank, etc.) asking for you to reply with your username and password or to click a link in the email and enter your username or passwrod. (There are others phishing techniques as well but I won’t get into them now.) Based on my previous experience (documented here, here and here) I’m curious to see how things turn out. Once her issue is resolved I’ll post some detail about it here.

Sorry
My apologies to those who have been requesting schedules the last couple of months and to those who have come to rely on my (usually) quick response to requests and support issues. Goings on at my regular job and my home life (the schedules is done in my spare time) have infringed on the time I used to spend on this. I assure you that I am committed to this service and will be delivering some new schedules very soon.

Fripp Does Microsoft
Guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson fame recently visited a recording studio on the Microsoft campus to record sounds that will be used by the software giant in Windows Vista, the next version of their Windows operating system product due out later in 2006.
