These Are The Glory Days

On my way home from work this morning I heard Bruce Springsteen‘s Glory Days on the radio. As this song often does to people it caused me to look back on the days of my youth. I mused on how then mets pitcher Dwight Gooden appeared in the video for the song. I reminisced briefly about my high school days, since the song was released when I was in high school and I’ll always associate it with that period of my life.

But then I thought of my life now. Despite the tough economic times my wife and I are both employed. Our bills are up to date, we’ve got food on our table and our kids are healthy. Are these not the glory days?
