Schedule FAQ
Why won’t GoldDave schedules import into my PIM?
GoldDave schedules are created in the .dba format. This format is the native format for importing DateBook information into the Palm Desktop. No other PIMs support this format. For information on how to get a GoldDave schedule into your non-Palm Desktop PIM see below.
Why won’t GoldDave schedules import into Palm Desktop for the Mac?
The .dba format is not standard among the Windows and Mac versions of Palm Desktop. The software used to create GoldDave schedules creates a Windows only version. Unfortunately I do not have a way to create Mac compatible .dba files.
How can I import a GoldDave schedule into Palm Desktop for the Mac or another Mac PIM?
If your PIM is compatible with the vCal standard (as most recent versions of PIMs including Palm Desktop for the Mac are) you can request a vCal version of the schedule you want. For more information see below.
How can I import a GoldDave schedule into my PIM if I’m not using Palm Desktop for Windows?
If your PIM is compatible with the vCal standard (as most recent versions of PIMs are) you can request a vCal version of the schedule you want. For more information see below.
What is vCal?
vCal is a technical standard for delivering calendar information over the internet. This standard is supported by most PIMs released in the last few years. To see if your PIM supports the vCal standard consult your product documentation or call tech support. To obtain the vCal version of a GoldDave schedule see below.
How can I obtain a copy of the vCal version of a GoldDave schedule?
The process for acquiring the vCal version of any GoldDave schedule is as follows:
- Buy the Palm Desktop version of the desired schedule. (Click here to shop for schedules.)
- Send an email to GoldDave support requesting the vCal version of the schedule. Be sure to let me know me know which schedule you bought.
Once your request and a confirmation of sale from the ecommerce provider is received I will begin work on your schedule and email it to you as soon as it is ready. Turnaround time for a vCal request is generally 24 to 48 hours except for weekends. (This time frame is not guaranteed.)
