Adam Curry Going Through Divorce
I just finished listening to the 98th episode of the No Agenda podcast and was surprised by the news at the beginning about Adam Curry and his wife, Patricia, going through a divorce. I only follow Curry through No Agenda and only see or hear him outside of that venue incidentally but was shocked at the news. I have only heard him say complimentary things about his wife. It seemed like he was very much in love with her and, based on a couple of brief appearances by her on No Agenda, she seemed to be in love with him too. There didn’t appear to be any indication that there was a problem between them so I was puzzled as to what happened there.
But we live in interesting times, my friends. Times in which Google can be used for both good and evil. A quick Google search turned up some interesting information. Lat week the Dutch magazin Story published an article in which Patricia says that they will be divorcing after 20 years of marriage and that Curry is having an affair with Micky Hoogendijk, a Dutch actress. There’s video of the two having lunch together in Ibiza.
Sorry to hear about your divorce, Adam. I’m also sorry your daughter has to deal with it. But you made your bed with another woman and now you have to deal with it.

Woman Who Reported Her Own Abduction Found At Disney World
A woman called 911 from Philadelphia on Tuesday claiming she and her daughter were abducted. Later that afternoon she and her daughter were spotted boarding a plane to Orlando, Florida at Philadelphia International Airport. The woman was arrested when she and her daughter were found at Walt Disney World.
As if this story was troubling enough. What could possibly make someone fake their own abduction? It must be something very bad. The part that gets me is why did she bother calling 911? She’s obviously trying to run away from something so why not just disappear? Why break the law by calling 911 and falsely reporting an abduction?
She also had borrowed the ID of a co-worker under false pretenses and used it to buy her plane tickets. If you’re going to try to disappear then why leave evidence like that? The woman whose ID was borrowed would surely know who took it and they can always use it to trace what it was used for.
This incident remind me of a lecture I heard while in College. The lecturer told us students that whatever we do in life we should use our heard. To paraphrase: “If you’re going to steal then steal with smarts.”

Is Sotomayor A Racist?
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Quick. Who said that? A motivational speaker? A career coach? A civil rights activist?
Nope. Those words were uttered by U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
I’m sure she’s a wonderful woman and her professional accomplishments may merit consideration for a position on the highest court in the nation. But if the nominee were a white man saying he’d reach better conclusions than a Latina (or any person of any other race) there’s no way he’d be confirmed and he’d be branded a racist.
I don’t mean to pick on Judge Sotomayor (like I said I’m sure she’s a wonderful woman) but this is a perfect example of a statement that is often overlooked for it’s implied racism because of it’s source. Just because someone is not white doesn’t mean that they cannot be a racist or make racially insensitive remarks.
Merriam-Webster defines racism as “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race”. Isn’t that what this statement communicates?
I’m not saying that Judge Sotomayor is a racist. I honestly don’t know that. But this statement certainly is racist. This country cannot have a racist on it’s top court so this angle is definitely worth investigating.
