Prepaid iPhone Option
One of the knocks against the way the Apple iPhone has been implemented is the commitment to AT&T Wireless. You’ll need to commit to a 2 year service agreement with a minimum $59.99 monthly fee (before taxes and other charges) with AT&T in order to use your iPhone which you will already be spending at least $499 to acquire. A co-worker tipped me off to the idea that there was a loophole where you could actually use an AT&T GoPhone plan with the iPhone. I did some Google searching and came up with the following links for more information:
- MacNN – Leak shows iPhone prepaid as fallback
- Boy Genius – AT&T Internal Apple iPhone document leaked. Prepaid iPhones, unboxing, credit checks, and more!
