Norton Protection Center Issues
I’m researching some issues relating to the new Norton Protection Center feature found in the 2006 version of Norton products and found that many people are very annoyed with this feature and just want to get rid of it. This page describes how to turn it off.
I actually don’t mind this feature but am a little annoyed with one particular aspect of it. It keeps saying that I have a problem because I have automatic updates set to notify instead of to automatic. I like keeping this setting to notify so I can control when a download happens and when to install. I haven’t found a way to turn off this particular alert. Anyone have any thoughts?

I like to keep my Windows Auto-Update settings like you do. I haven’t found a way to get Norton Protectection Center to recognize that setting as valid. I’m going to probably shut it down completely. It’s annoying.
Thanks for the link.
Hi!
Did you find some way to make norton not complain about NOTIFY setting?
I’m tired of this alert!
Open up the Norton Internet Security. From there, click on the options button. A drop down menu should appear. Select Norton Protection Center. There should be an Alert Options section with three check boxes. Uncheck the last one on the bottom “Show Windows Updates alerts.”
That won’t eliminate your (our) problem but it does make it less annoying.

I’m sure the email has some information about how to cancel. Otherwise, when you first set up their product you were asked to create an account on their website their website (https://www.mynortonaccount.com). Log into your account and you should be able to cancel from their.
For what it’s worth their 2009 product is a lot better than the past few years. It doesn’t hog resources like it has in recent years. It may be worthwhile to try it again.

i cannot find solution on how to renew my norton internet protection which came with my laptop as i purchased it last May 2007.
There’s no way I can help you with that as I don’t have the proper information. I’m sure the computer came with some kind of documentation or the documentation can be accessed online.
